Fans Crossing The Line
The internet is buzzing today about the Miami Heat fan that gave Chicago Bulls Center Joakim Noah the finger as he was leaving the court after being ejected in the second half of the game. What A Fan was disturbed by this behavior, we are all about celebrating fans but when fans cross the line we all must take a stand! This behavior effects the perception of all fans, its situations like this players and media jump on and claim its actions like that that give athletes a reason to be unapproachable! Not A Good Look for Sports Fans! |
Fans crossing the line doesn't happen very often but when it does its well publicized and that's the problem. Fans do more in their communities then the teams and athletes they love to cheer for but you rarely see that in the media... But one crazy over exuberant Heat fan with an obviously limited vocabulary gives a disrespectful gesture at a Professional Athlete on his job becomes topic of conversation... Does she or any fan have the right to express themselves in that way? Please leave your answer below!!!
I say hell no! How would you like someone coming to your job and you get kick out of a meeting and some asshole is standing there giving you the finger??? What would you want to do to that idiot? Rude is rude and there are so many other ways of expressing your disdain for them or their actions on the court. Cmon people we are better then this! That type of behavior is a reflection of the team and its fans like it or not! I hope the fans standing next to her said something to her but i doubt it... I wonder what her reception will be like the next home game, fans crossing the line should never be tolerated...
Fans Crossing The Line, Unacceptable!
What A Fan is 100% supportive of fans and their right of expression, including this crazy woman, we don't always agree with the actions of all fans but we'll always speak out truthfully...
We really hope you'll comment of this blog, we'd be very interested in reading your comments!
The athletes are just people (and some of them quite young) just trying to do their best. Just because a fan pays for a ticket does not give them any right to be disrespectful, disgusting or rude and mean. I think that security should have been much more on the ball and taunting fans should be punished in some way. This makes the whole experience and love for the game really sad I think. If the players get fined or ejected for expressing their frustration and feelings, it is not fair that they should have to deal with this type of thing from 'fans'. I am so proud of Joakim for handling it like he did and his post game interview was total class too.
ReplyDelete100% agree, well said! Thanks for the comment!!!

ReplyDeleteI also think it's despicable as this should not be tolerated as even at sporting events you should show some class. Miami is a tough city as there are many women like Ms. Tobias there.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful city and a lot of fun, but some of the rudest people I have ever encountered. I relocated for a project down there in 2008 and after a year moved to Islamorada in the Keys as I could not take the city anymore. It was like a different world and worth the 50 mile commute to get out of Miami.
You need to checkout the lady in the pic Ms. Tobias as she is quite the character indeed with a colorful history to say the least.
