International Fans vs USA Fans?

International Fans vs USA Fans?

What A Fan is all about exploring the intriguing World of sports fans and in a continuing effort to shine a insightful light we thought we'd look at International fans vs USA fans. Lets begin with our International neighbors across the pond, lets first identify the most popular sports. The top of the list has to begin with Europe's version of football, soccer, next is open wheel racing. International soccer fans are some of the most dedicated fanatics we have ever witnessed in our history. We were first introduced to the World of extreme soccer fans during a World Cup many years ago and it was for all the wrong reasons.
Sexy International Soccer Fan!

During several of the games the news was dominated by reports of soccer fans being killed during tailgating functions and after games be rival teams fan base and the gangs that followed them. If this happens once its way to many times but this was happening over and over again, fans were not just cheering for the teams these games represented their Country and homeland... To soccer fans the games were an opportunity for expression, pride and winning meant everything but loosing was devastatingly painful. There are similarities among soccer fans and fans here in the USA we all seem to enjoy expressing our passion with colorful costumes and painted faces, some might say they started it and we took it to a whole new level... International fans vs USA fans is very interesting once you dive in and really look at both parties.
Soccer Thugs!

International open wheel racing fans are significantly less violent but equally as passionate for their sport and favorite drivers. I guess as we explored the International fans vs USA fans we see so many more similarities then anything else including unfortunately moments of horrific violence. So we are calling this a draw! We'd love to get your thoughts, leave a comment below and tell us what you think.

International Fans vs USA Fans?

If you have an International experience please share it with us. We hope you continue to support our blog you're the reason we do it! Visit What A Fan's web site and stay connected with upcoming events.

Satisfied Sports Fans

Satisfied Sports Fans

The World of sports is not an easy environment to maneuver in. Professional and amateur sports work within a maze of obstacles that few will ever understand. Dealing with a variety of people, attitudes, off the field circumstances and talented egos is no simple task. Add to that the underlining pressure to win so you have satisfied sports fans and it just gets more complicated.
Loosing Sucks!

Satisfied sports fans are easy to spot, they're typically in good moods constantly talking about how well their teams are doing and buying up any and all team merchandise they can put their hands on. How do you satisfy sports fans? Its fairly simple, just win baby! That's right winning will keep your fans engaged and more then happy to spend their hard earned cash to support the team. Make no mistake about it winning Organizations fan are a bit spoiled but loosing Organizations still have loyal satisfied fans that put the game above all else.

Satisfied Sports Fans,

Satisfied Sports Fans are no different from any other group that expect to get a good product for their  money! Shoppers don't enter a store prepared to spend their money only to find crappy merchandise they're force to buy do they? Hell no! Fans have a right to want to see a competitive product on the field or courts, showing up to games knowing your Teams chances of winning is slim to none SUCKS! The good news is we're not talking about shoppers we're talking about Sports Fans, some of the best most amazing people we know... Showing up when our Teams are struggling is what we do. Lifting the our Teams spirits is who we are, folding it in when our Teams are at their lowest point is just not an option!!!
We May Hate Loosing But We're Here!

Fans may bitch and talk a lot about our Teams performance among ourselves but we don't want to hear it from anyone outside our fan base... What A Fan is proud to be part of this great group of awesome folks. We are Satisfied Sports Fans and we've got our Teams back!!!!! Visit our web site and show your colors!

NFL Hall of Fame Fans

NFL Hall of Fame Fans

What A Fan has been following a group of NFL Hall of Fame Fans which we were introduced to us in 2000. We found out about these amazing fans by a Oakland Raider Fan we were interviewing for the pilot episode for What A Fan, he was living in New Jersey and wanted to be one of the fans initially selected. The NFL and Visa worked together on a sponsorship program targeting fans, winners of this super fan contest would be inducted into the NFL Hall of Fans inside Canton's Hall of Fame.

All of us at What A Fan could not believe our luck we thought this was the coolest thing ever and confirmed for all the show producers we were on the right project at the right time... The NFL Hall of Fame Fans story was just the kind of feature we believed people would have a curiosity about , as we did. We had our producers make arrangements to interview the first group of fans that won and ultimately selected to be part of the Hall of Fans. Since we already had our first pilot show written and scheduled we could not include the NFL Hall of Fame Fans but they were part of our series of shows planned. As fate would have it the show did get distribution, unfortunately out release date was after the horrific events of 911.

Today the World is a different place with assets we didn't have in 1999. The internet has become an amazing tool we can barely live without, social networks are the way we now communicate and express ourselves. One thing that hasn't changed is the passion of sports fans. We are happy to report the group of fans once selected to the first Visa NFL Hall of Fame Fans contest are largely still with us and just as passionate about their teams as ever. Some are gone like our good friend Barrel Man but we'll never forget him, we'll keep his memory alive.

NFL Hall of Fame Fans, Quality Folks!

What makes this group of super fans special is the continued commitment to their teams and the community service they immerse themselves in year to year. Their value to sports, community, charitable organizations and the people's lives they've touched is unmeasurable. The smiles they've put on the faces of countless children in need and during hospital visits has been remarkable. There are fans and then there are super fans and the NFL Hall of Fame Fans now recognized as P.F.U.F.A. (Professional Football Ultimate Fan Association) are just a class group of American Sports Fans.

What A Fan is honored to be part of a industry of sports fans were organizations like PFUFA are born from. Visit What A Fan and share you passion with our great fans.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Fan Excited

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Fan Excited

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Fans have a lot to be excited about today. New York Jets former Pro Bowl Corner Darrelle Revis was traded to the Team in the City by the Bay, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs may have scored big with this trade if Revis health is on point. This move may do more then just sure up a sourly need makeover at the corner position it will put more butts in the stands during Tampa Bay home games. Nineteen games over the last couple of seasons were blacked out do to lack of attendance, this will surely bring more fans back to the games.
Darrelle Revis

During Revis media conference today the veteran spoke of bringing more leadership to the young Buccaneers Team and a strong work ethic. The Fans are hoping he brings more wins! Having been to many Tampa Bay games I can tell you personally the Fans are some of the best in the NFL and I'm excited to see the Bucs play this year, plus the tailgating parties are awesome! The only question now is how will Freeman play at the Quarter Back position? If he can be half as good as he's capable of being this will be a Team to beat. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Fans Excited, that's an understatement!!!

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Fans Excited Final Thoughts

I still can't believe the New York Jets would trade the best defensive player and the leader of the Team when leadership is so hard to replace. But one Teams lost is another Teams treasure and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Fans are excited about the treasure they've been given. Over the next several weeks the Buccaneers and their fans will be all a buzz over the new kid on the block. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Fans Excited just doesn't seem to really express the feelings circulating around the City of Tampa. Visit What A  Fan and follow great fans like you!

Boston Fans Support Their City

Boston Fans Support Their City

The City of Boston has been on edge over the last several days but today April 20th the City of Boston can rest a little easier. Today Boston fans support their City by returning to the ballparks and enjoying the teams and activities they love. The Boston Red Sox  and all the Boston Professional Sports franchises were amazingly supportive of their community and fans around the Country have shown their heart felt support as well.
Marathon Bombing

Today the Red Sox take the field and as a tribute the City, the victims and the families affected by the horrific events will wear Boston across the chest on their uniform (usually reads Red Sox). A strong gesture of support by a classy organization. Today we salute the City of Boston and anyone from the area effected by the recent bombing, Boston is such a massive part of American History that it's fitting they are our American Sports Fan feature of the day! Boston fans support their City much like the City of New York did after the 911 event, sports fan are resilient and we are honored to be part of the community.

Oakland Raider Super Fan

Oakland Raider Super Fan

Oakland Raider Super Fans may be some of the most scary fans you'd ever want to see. When dressed in their super fan outfit you wouldn't want to run into any of them on an unlit road. I'm joking of course, actually Oakland Raider Super Fans are some of the most amazing fans you will ever meet. What A Fan would like to introduce you to Mark aka "Gorilla Rilla" known for his unique choice of costume and his passion for community service.

Few fans we follow are as active in community related efforts as Gorilla Rilla. Kids adore him and fans across the country respect his pure heart and desire to help in anyway possible. So often we hear fans described as nuts or crazy, we believe there's not enough praise provided for many Oakland Raider super fans. We've had the pleasure of meeting many Raider fans and being in their environment is an awesome experience.

Athletes Are Fans Too

Athletes Are Fans Too

What A Fan had the honor of being a sponsor of a NFL Youth Camp which several current and former players were part of and we were happy to see Athletes are fans too. Who would of guested many of the players themselves were fans of one of our favorite super fans Sir "V." Former NFL QB Dante Culpepper (seen above) was as happy to see a familiar supporter as Sir "V" was to see him.

Athletes truly do appreciate the super fan supporters they have and it was pretty cool to see this up close. I enjoy watching Professional Athlete interviews and hear them express how big a sports fan they are, whether its the sport they play or not. It reminds us just how important being a fan is, we are all fans of something! Athletes are fans too could not be more obvious to us.

Athlete Are Fans Too Final Thoughts

If at any time you have an opportunity to meet a player ask him or her yourself, what sport do they follow? Or what athlete would they pay to see? You'd be surprised at their answer and it just may prolong your time spent with them, its probably a question they're not asked very often. Just remember Athletes are fans too! College Football

College Football

College football fans are by far some of the most incredible group of fans there is. As loyal as they come college fans have several generations of fans in their family. It usually begins because someone in the family attended a specific school and a tradition was born. The pageantry, the tradition and pride that comes with college athletics is truly special.
cnbcsucks.wordpress.com

As we get closer to the NFL Draft we wanted to take a look at the transition from college football to Pros and how it effects an entire group of fans, players and the coaches that have been part of their development. So meet Chris, Chris has been coaching for the Florida Gators for more then five (5) decades... He's seen some of the best Florida has delivered into the NFL and has been a huge part of their accomplishments. We had the pleasure of interviewing the legendary coach during Gator Fan Fest, check it out.

College football fans support of their schools student athletes last for ever, its an amazing closeness so different for anything we see in the professional ranks. Visit our web site and join other loyal sports fans sharing the passion... www.whatafan.com

Saints Fans

Saints Fan

Our last visit to New Orleans was awesome but how do you not have a blast in that City! The one thing you quickly come to realize when you visit New Orleans is the people there throw a great party, love to eat and love their Saints! No matter where you go you will meet a Saints fan happy to talk about a special moment they remember. Meet Jeremy a die-hard Saints fan that couldn't stop talking about his beloved Team.

We met Jeremy when we walk into his place of employment to have lunch, he was our waiter and he was awesome. We love talking sports but we love talking sports even more with passionate fans everywhere we go. Saints fans have this laid back quality about them until you begin a conversation about their local teams then a light seems to turn on within them all... There's no better group of people then sports fans and this Saints fan is just another example of that!

I'm Not Crazy!

I'm Not Crazy

What do you consider crazy? Who are we to judge what is or isn't crazy in today's environment? Is it cool to call someone crazy when they are dressed in military gear, face painted to blend into the landscape for survival while defending Americans rights to be a passionate sports fan? No they are call patriots! Meet Blaze, his real name is Jimmy, but when he's attending his beloved NFL Titans games this is his outfit of choice. Crazy, NO, it's fans like Blaze that not only grease the wheels of NFL Teams but they also create the atmosphere we've all come to enjoy! Whether your tailgating, watching in the stands or on your comfy couch fans like Blaze are part of the spectacle we've come to expect. I'm not crazy, I'm a fan!

Sports fans to the delight of the teams they follow are becoming increasingly more expressive and colorful and that backdrop is just fine for the team owners benefiting by the actions of the fans. Sports fans may appear to be crazy but it may just be they're crazy like fox. They're season ticket holders that tailgate weekly and dress up like its Halloween with the anonymity that many of us wish we had. Crazy, NO, while you're laughing at them in their outfits you're also wishing you had their life! Visit our web site and get to know American Sports Fans like Blaze. Hell if you can't beat them join them! www.whatafan.com
